Product Description...
This exhibition focuses on how the creators of the masterpiece animation "Heidi, Girl of the Alps" approached the production of the work.
"Heidi" was based on children's literature and was planned with the intention of creating a "wholesome work for children." It was a successful project thanks to the work of young director Isao Takahata and the staff who supported him.
In adapting this work into animation, Takahata considered depicting the lives of the characters with realism, using expressions only possible in animation, and with great care. The young creators then passionately tackled the difficult work to produce a high-quality work, creating a 52-episode TV series.
The exhibition features panels and explanations drawn by Hayao Miyazaki, who was one of the staff members, looking back on that time, as well as valuable location scouting materials. It recreates Heidi's mountain hut life, allowing visitors to understand how "everyday life," which was unprecedented in TV animation at the time, was depicted.
This planned exhibition explores the source of the charm of "Heidi," which is loved by fans around the world even after more than 30 years since its broadcast.
