This beautiful horse hair and feather raku vase is signed Kruz '13 with a fish symbol. This large vase or pot is pink with black.
Horse hair raku is a method of decoration pottery through the application of horsehair and other dry carbonaceous material (like feathers) to the heated ware. The burning carbonaceous material creates smoke patterns and carbon trails on the surface of the heated ware that remains as decoration after the ware cools.
This type of Raku produces one-of-a-kind designs and you will not find another pottery piece like it.
Crackle glaze with some chipping in the glaze. (see photos) The bottom looks cracked, but it is not. Just a raku burn line. Overall great condition.
