JAPAN MUTSUHITO 2 SEN Year 14 Dragon (1881) Copper Coin Antique Choice BeadRage

Nice piece - I ordinally picked this piece up thinking it had a dragon design on one side. I am a dragon lover. I wanted to have it painted but retired from the hotel before I could do it. I feel it is in excellent condition - copper in nature I think - I do have it enclosed in a paper folder right now - didn't want it scratched. Only one I have.

The 2 sen coin, or ni sen kōka, was a Japanese coin minted during the Meiji period that was worth one-fiftieth of a yen. The coins were made from almost pure copper and featured the ruler Mutsuhito. The obverse of the coin often depicts a dragon with V-scales within a beaded circle, while the reverse may include a chrysanthemum and the coin's value above sprays.
