This is a Portmeirion Botanic Garden storage jar with the “Sweet William” (Dianthus Barbatus) design. Designed by Susan Williams-Ellis. Pattern: Botanic Garden, introduced in 1972. Made of earthenware ceramic jar with wooden lid and fitted plastic seal. Design featured: Dianthus Barbatus (Sweet William) with botanical illustration and butterflies. Production from the 1970s–1980s. Dishwasher Proof, Oven to Table, Freezer & Microwave Safe – Made in England. Dimensions Approx. Diameter 11.5 x H 18 cm. Weight 1010g. Condition: No cracks or chips. Botanical illustration of Sweet William remains crisp and colourful. Lettering (“Dianthus Barbatus – Sweet William”) is intact. Lid shows moderate wear and scuffing around the outer edge.
