An overwhelming collection of works that re-examines what "modernity" has lost, through the rich nature and people of the Kii Peninsula. Forests, rivers, and seas that have coexisted with humans for a thousand years of abundance. The Kii Peninsula, where life has been built upon receiving blessings from nature. Yoshino, Koyasan, Gojo, along the Kinokawa River to the sea, and then Arida, Tanabe, Karekinada, Koza, Shingu, Totsukawa... A bold collection of works by a promising photographer, facing this land that has maintained an integrated relationship between people and the land.

The mountains of Yoshino and Kumano, overflowing with various colors, and the mountain villages near Odaigahara, where magnificent autumn leaves sway like flames in the wind. Following the 1995 monochrome photo book "Paradise Kii Peninsula," this is a color photo book that captures the deep nature of the Kii Peninsula.

Shunji Dodo
Born in 1947. After graduating from the Department of Photography, Faculty of Art, Kyushu Sangyo University, he became a teacher at the Tokyo Photography College Kyushu School, and then a teacher at the Osaka Photography College (now Visual Arts College), later serving as principal.
His photo books include "Shinsekai: Mukashi mo Ima mo" (co-authored), "HORIZON" (co-authored), and "Paradise Kii Peninsula" (winner of the Japan Professional Photographers Society Annual Award).
Director of the Japan Society of Photographic Arts, and a member of the Japan Professional Photographers Society.
