Vintage Italian majolica tea or coffee cup and saucer set, hand-painted for Tiffany & Co.
The text on the base of both pieces reads "HAND PAINTED FOR TIFFANY & CO. IN ITALY."
Majolica pottery is known for its vibrant colors and intricate designs on an opaque white glaze. The design uses a floral pattern in an Imari palette of cobalt blue and iron red.
These items are vintage, likely from around the 1980s. Excellent condition. No damage on the cup. Two tiny flecks of glaze (.2mm) on the bottom rim of the plate, to the left of the flower stem, are there. See picture. Hard to spot, but I want to disclose it.
Measurements:
Cup is 2 3/4" high by 4 5/8 from rim to handle back, 3 5/8" across rim
Saucer is 1" high by 6 3/8" across
